Job description

Position Title: Cashier
Department: Parks, Recreation amp; Civic Facilities
Division: Swimming
Salary: $15.00hourly
Closing Date: Until Filled

Job Summary/Scope
Responsible for the processing of all incoming funds, as well as justifying daily cash reports. Must monitor entrance gate at all times. Seasonal employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists with daily start up and close down procedures.
  • Accounts for all incoming funds and justifies daily cash reports.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the booth/gate area and surrounding facility.
  • Monitors front gate.
  • Direct contact with the public customer service representative.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to learn Civic Rec POS software and related hardware.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and interact with the general public on a daily basis.
  • Must be available to work irregular hours and at various intervals, including weekends, holiday and evening hours.
  • Must be responsible and work well with people of all ages and dispositions.

Material and Equipment Directly Used
Computer, cash drawer, and receipt printer for POS procedures. Cleaning supplies and equipment used in maintaining the booth/gate area. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an outside setting, including cold, dust, dirt, exposure to chemicals and extreme heat. Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
Education
Any prior experience or any combination of formal education and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be at least 15 years of age.
All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
