PROVIDER NURSE

Bone & Joint Institute of South Georgia (BJISG) is a well-established, busy orthopaedic practice serving over 18 counties in Southeast Georgia. The Provider Nurse will work directly with a specific provider and perform a variety of orthopaedic related activities including assisting the provider with documenting and coding each patient visit, assisting with minor in-office procedures, and working closely with other staff members to manage each patient throughout their care. Clear and concise communication skills are a must. Will lead and direct clinic team members in accordance to the policies and procedures given by provider or Director of Clinic Operations. Travel to satellite offices is required.

                                                        
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE



  • High School Diploma Required
  • LPN or RN Degree in Nursing Preferred

  • Current BLS Certification

  • Two years in nursing experience preferred, orthopaedic experience a plus

  • Experience using an EHR/EMR

  • Experience performing basic nursing tasks. (i.e. manual and automatic vital signs, venipuncture for labs, sterile and non-sterile techniques, etc)

  • Type 40 WPM
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and cheerful attitude
  • Fast paced self-starter
  • Highly organized and astute attention for detail
  • Provide outstanding customer service – must be friendly and compassionate to patients
  • Neat, professional look

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING: 


  • Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of electronic health record and other computer software as it relates to job functions

  • Accurately document each patient visit

  • Competently manage patient care as directed by the provider
  • Follow provider preferences for all medications, DME and appointment schedules
