Role Description The Autocad Designer role would be a per project contract basis. The Autocad Designer is responsible for creating detailed CAD drawings and fabrication plans for pedestrian railings, bridge railings, and specialty steel structures. The shop drawing tasks include interpreting project specifications, reviewing field measurements, preparing shop drawings, revising designs based on project engineer's feedback, and ensuring drawings comply with industry standards and project requirements. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to resolve design issues and support accurate, efficient production.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for structural and fabrication design.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and field measurements.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy in drafting, and commitment to quality standards.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, engineers, and shop personnel.
• Experience with steel fabrication, handrailing system design is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with TXDOT, commercial construction, or infrastructure projects is a plus.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
