Job description

Coordinator, Data Support

BLACK CULTURAL ZONE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION - OAKLAND, CA

Salary Range $32.00 - $32.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time

Overview

Join the Black Cultural Zone CDC as a Data Support Coordinator!

Are you a systems-oriented professional with a passion for data integrity and a commitment to measurable community impact? Black Cultural Zone Community Development Corporation (BCZCDC) is seeking a Data Support Coordinator to serve as the operational backbone for our data collection and tracking systems.

This role is essential for maintaining the organizational "truth" required for strategic growth and reporting. You will work closely with the "Centers of Excellence" network to ensure functional technical systems, accurate documentation, and the support needed to translate community work into measurable data. This position is vital for providing the infrastructure and operational support necessary to advance our mission of centering Black arts, culture, and economics in East Oakland.

We are excited to welcome a new member to our Strategic Management Services (SMS) team who is ready to bring technical curiosity and organizational mastery to our data workflows.

What You'll Do

As the Data Support Coordinator, you will manage a comprehensive range of data infrastructure and evaluation functions to ensure the strategic success of the organization's governance and operations:

  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Support the Manager in managing and updating data design and technical infrastructure.
  • Process Documentation: Work with teams to map, document, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data collection and management to ensure organizational consistency.
  • Data Entry & Integrity: Execute regular data entry and perform audits to ensure data quality and security across all platforms.
  • Metric Documentation & Reporting: Support teams in updating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and gather information for regular reporting cycles to ensure accurate data for stakeholders.
  • Technical Assistance & Coordination: Provide real-time technical assistance for data tools through "Open Office Hours" and collaborate with the Qualitative Coordinator to align metrics with narrative stories.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend in-person meetings, participate in "all the BCZ things," and contribute to monthly initiative success reports.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem-solver who can see how individual data points roll up into broader organizational goals.

  • Education & Experience: Demonstrated experience in data entry, infrastructure support, or technical coordination is required. Experience in a non-profit or community-based setting is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data toolkit components (e.g., Excel/Sheets, SQL, Tableau, R/Python) is preferred. The ability to proactively master new digital tools and stay agile as processes evolve is essential.
  • Abilities: Must possess extreme attention to detail for record-keeping and the communication skills to provide patient, clear technical guidance to staff.
  • Requirements: Must be able to work at a standard computer terminal and travel occasionally to BCZ hubs and partner locations.
Our Culture and Benefits

At Black Cultural Zone CDC, we believe in a collaborative organizational culture guided by our C.R.E.A.T.E. values (Collaboration, Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Trust, and Empowerment).

  • Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends, and evenings as necessary.
  • Location: Hybrid (requires at least 6 in-person days per month).
  • Compensation: $32.00 per hour.
  • Culture: Join a team dedicated to the "Sankofa Journey Approach" —learning from the past to build a thriving future.

If you're ready to bring your skills and passion to a team that's dedicated to creating a thriving community, we encourage you to apply!
