This role delivers psychiatric evaluation, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), psychiatric medication management, and integrated care services while rotating between our Franklinton outpatient facility and Whitehall outpatient facility. The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team and under the clinical guidance of the NP Lead and/or Medical Director to ensure the highest quality of patient care and regulatory compliance.# Core Responsibilities* Provide direct patient care including psychiatric evaluation, MAT services, and medication management across multiple sites* Deliver evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions* Rotate clinical services between Franklinton and Whitehall as scheduled* Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team including counselors, case managers, peer support specialists, and nursing staff* Maintain compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and best practice standards* Participate in treatment team meetings and care coordination activities* Support continuity of care across the continuum of services## QualificationsJob Duties## DIRECT PATIENT CARE* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions* Provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) including buprenorphine induction, maintenance, and tapering* Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications for patients with co-occurring mental health disorders* Conduct initial evaluations, follow-up appointments, and crisis assessments as needed* Perform physical examinations and order appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies* Interpret lab results, urine drug screens, and other diagnostic information* Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and treatment team* Provide patient education regarding medications, side effects, and treatment expectations* Monitor patient response to medications and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated* Document all patient encounters thoroughly and timely in electronic health record system## MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT)* Provide buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone) inductions and ongoing MAT management* Prescribe naltrexone (oral and injectable Vivitrol) as clinically appropriate* Monitor patients for medication adherence, diversion risk, and treatment response* Utilize Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) to review patient prescription history prior to prescribing controlled substances* Coordinate with pharmacy services to ensure safe medication dispensing and patient access* Educate patients and families about MAT options, benefits, and expectations* Support harm reduction approaches while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries## PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATION MANAGEMENT* Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications for depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other co-occurring mental health conditions* Monitor for drug interactions between psychiatric medications and substances of use* Adjust medication regimens to account for active substance use or early recovery status* Collaborate with patients on medication adherence strategies* Provide crisis intervention and medication adjustments for patients in acute distress## MULTI-SITE ROTATION AND COVERAGE* Rotate between Franklinton and Whitehall according to established schedule* Maintain consistent patient panels at assigned outpatient locations* Adapt to different facility workflows, documentation systems, and team structures* Travel between sites as required (mileage reimbursement provided per Basecamp policy)* Ensure continuity of care for patients across service locations* Participate in coverage planning to ensure adequate clinical availability at all sites## COLLABORATION AND TEAM PARTICIPATION* Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and care planning* Collaborate with Licensed Clinical Counselors, Social Workers, Case Managers, and Peer Support Specialists* Coordinate care with Charge Nurse and nursing staff regarding patient medical needs* Communicate regularly with NP Lead/Medical Director regarding clinical questions, complex cases, and operational needs* Consult with contracted Medical Director as required for complex cases or collaborative agreement oversight* Partner with admissions team to ensure timely access to medical services for new patients* Support integrated care model by coordinating medical and behavioral health services## COMPLIANCE AND QUALITY ASSURANCE* Maintain compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 (federal substance use disorder confidentiality regulations)* Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements* Follow OhioMHAS (Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services) regulations* Comply with Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) requirements for all controlled substance prescriptions* Maintain collaborative practice agreement requirements with contracted physician* Participate in chart review and quality improvement initiatives* Complete required continuing education and training* Maintain current licensure, certification, and DEA registration* Follow Basecamp policies and procedures including infection control, emergency response, and safety protocols## DOCUMENTATION AND RECORD-KEEPING* Complete all clinical documentation within required timeframes per organizational policy and regulatory requirements* Document patient encounters in electronic health record (EHR) system with accuracy and thoroughness* Ensure all required elements are included in assessment, treatment planning, and progress note documentation* Obtain and document informed consent for MAT and psychiatric treatment* Complete required reporting for adverse events, medication errors, or safety concerns* Maintain organized patient records in compliance with record retention requirements* Complete timely responses to requests for medical records or coordination of care documentation## PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CONTINUOUS LEARNING* Participate in clinical supervision and consultation with NP Lead/Medical Director* Attend staff meetings, clinical case conferences, and training sessions* Stay current with best practices in addiction medicine and State of Ohio* Certification as Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC)* Current DEA license with prescriptive authority* Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) including buprenorphine, naltrexone, and other addiction medications* Understanding of psychiatric medication management for patients with substance use disorders*
