A Furniture Mover is responsible for safely and efficiently relocating furniture and related items, ensuring they arrive undamaged while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Furniture Movers perform a variety of tasks related to moving furniture for residential and commercial clients. Their main duties include:

• Packing and Wrapping: Securely wrap and protect furniture to prevent damage during transport 
• Loading and Unloading: Safely lift and load items onto moving trucks, transport them, and unload at the destination 
• Placement: Arrange furniture according to client instructions at the new location 
• Inventory Management: Keep track of items to ensure nothing is lost or damaged during the move 
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other movers and supervisors to coordinate tasks and maintain safety 
• Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks
• Attention to Detail: Careful handling of furniture to prevent damage and ensure proper placement
• Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with clients 
• Experience: Prior experience in moving, packing, or manual labor is preferred but not always required 
• Optional Skills: Forklift operation, truck driving, and knowledge of moving equipment can be advantageous 

Work Environment

• Physically Demanding: Frequent lifting, bending, and carrying of heavy furniture
• Variable Conditions: Work may occur in different weather conditions and at various client locations 
• Reporting Structure: Typically reports to a Moving Team Supervisor or Operations Manager
