Job Summary:
B4Corp is a small defense contracting company that focuses on providing an optimum environment for mission-focused, highly skilled consultants to support the United States of America’s intelligence community and other defense organizations. They are seeking an experienced DevOps Systems Engineer to support the design, automation, deployment, and maintenance of modern cloud-based platforms and mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and support cloud-based infrastructure and application environments.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, security, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code to ensure reliable and consistent deployments.
• Enhance platform observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting.
• Support container orchestration platforms, Kubernetes clusters, and associated tooling.
• Collaborate across development, security, and operations teams to improve platform resilience and performance.
• Maintain strong version control discipline across all code repositories.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Developmental (0-2 years’ experience)
• Full Performance (3-5 years’ experience)
• Senior (6-10 years’ experience)
• Expert (11-15 years’ experience)
• SME (16+ years’ experience)
• Technical bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field)
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or systems engineering
• AWS Cloud Platform
• Foundational-to-intermediate experience using AWS Console and CLI, with working knowledge of: SNS, SQS, API Gateway, CloudWatch Logs, CloudTrail, CloudFormation (CFN), Step Functions, Route 53, DynamoDB, EBS, EFS, S3, EC2, Lambda, ECR, ECS, EKS, KMS, IAM, Secrets Manager
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
• Familiarity with tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo Workflows, or similar
• Ability to integrate automated testing, scanning, and deployment orchestration
• Strong experience with Docker/Podman
• Expert understanding of Kubernetes (EKS or on-prem)
• Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review best practices
• Experience working within automation-driven DevOps environments
• Ability to document architectures, processes, and operational runbooks
Preferred:
• Experience with Terraform or AWS CDK
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Background in security best practices and compliance frameworks
