The Purchasing Coordinator is a full-time, onsite, and exempt position responsible for supporting procurement and supply chain activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, packaging, supplies, and services. This role operates within a regulated manufacturing environment and supports compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), NSF requirements, and food safety standards. The Purchasing Coordinator works cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Finance, and Warehouse teams to ensure continuity of supply and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on, mid-level purchasing position requiring strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Purchase raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies in accordance with company requirements
• Create and manage purchase orders
• Track order status and ensure timely delivery of materials
• Escalate late orders, shortages, transportation problems, quality holds, and other supply risks.
• Manage vendor communication regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
• Maintain vendor contact information and purchasing records
• Evaluate inventory levels and coordinate replenishment
• Ensure materials are ordered in alignment with production schedules
• Resolve purchasing and delivery discrepancies
• Lead costsaving initiatives and vendor negotiations
• Collaborate with production and planning teams to support demand requirements
• Coordinate with warehouse and receiving teams for incoming materials
• Escalate late orders, shortages, transportation problems, quality holds, and other supply risks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain operations
• Maintain compliance with cGMP, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines at all times.
• Maintain, conduct, and uphold audit readiness at all times
• Complete annual food defense training and ensure food safety practices when entering production area
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
• 13 years of purchasing or supply chain experience preferred
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience in GMP or regulated environment preferred
Physical Requirements:

This position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The assigned personnel may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
