We are seeking an FPGA-focused Digital Signal Processing Engineer to support U.S. Naval systems requiring real-time signal analysis, algorithm development, and hardware implementation. This role supports mission-critical sensing, communications, and processing capabilities deployed in maritime environments.

The engineer will analyze signal requirements, develop and validate algorithms in MATLAB, and translate those designs into VHDL implementations on FPGA platforms. Work will be performed in a hybrid environment, with periodic on-site support aligned to program and integration needs.

• Perform requirements analysis and characterize signal behavior, including bandwidth, noise, timing, and performance constraints.

• Develop and validate DSP algorithms using MATLAB and simulation frameworks.

• Translate MATLAB-based algorithms into VHDL for FPGA implementation.

• Implement, integrate, and optimize FPGA designs to meet real-time processing requirements.

• Support verification, validation, and test activities, including simulation, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software engineers to ensure end-to-end performance alignment.

• Support documentation and technical reviews in accordance with Naval and DoD engineering standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.

• Strong foundation in Digital Signal Processing concepts and applications.

• Demonstrated experience developing DSP algorithms in MATLAB.

• Hands-on experience implementing designs in VHDL for FPGA platforms.

• Experience with FPGA simulation and verification workflows.

• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment supporting classified or sensitive programs.

• Experience supporting U.S. Navy or DoD systems.

• Familiarity with maritime sensing, communications, radar, EW, or embedded signal processing systems.

• Experience translating algorithms from high-level models into hardware-optimized implementations.

• Exposure to FPGA toolchains such as Xilinx or Intel (Altera).

• Active or eligible DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher).

• Hybrid: Combination of remote work and on-site support at Naval or contractor facilities.

• Contract-contingent: Position is dependent upon contract award.

• On-site presence required for integration, test, and program milestones.

This role directly supports operational Naval capability, translating advanced signal processing theory into real hardware that performs in contested, real-world maritime environments. It's hands-on, technical, and mission-critical, not a paper-only engineering seat.
