Director of Maintenance – Lead with Expertise in Skilled Nursing

Are you a seasoned maintenance professional with proven leadership skills and skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience? Aston Health is looking for a motivated Director of Maintenance to oversee all facility operations, ensuring safety, functionality, and excellence across our physical environment.

About the Director of Maintenance Role

As Director of Maintenance, you will lead a team responsible for the upkeep of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and mechanical systems. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards while maintaining an environment that supports exceptional care and resident well-being.

Key Responsibilities for the Director of Maintenance

  • Coordinate and enforce compliance with building codes, OSHA, EPA, CMS, fire codes, and other regulations.

  • Manage maintenance staff and contractors to complete work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Oversee budgets, capital expenditures, and inventory control for supplies and equipment.

  • Conduct regular inspections of life safety systems and coordinate necessary repairs.

  • Maintain both interior and exterior facility upkeep, including landscaping and waste management.

What You Bring as the Director of Maintenance

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in Environmental Services, Plant Operations, or Maintenance within a healthcare setting — Skilled Nursing Facility experience is required.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety.

  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and CMS regulations related to nursing care facilities.

  • Proven ability to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and solve complex maintenance issues.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software tools.

  • Commitment to regulatory compliance and maintaining a safe environment.
