Job Description: Project Control Specialist 

Clearance Requirement: Top Secret

Employment Status: Temporary – 6 weeks (Potential for longer term)

Classification: Non-Exempt

Travel Required: No

Location: Onsite, Bluemont, Virginia

Job Summary: 

The Project Control Specialist will provide project management and coordination support for telecommunications and systems engineering projects. This role works closely with program managers, engineers, government stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure technical, schedule, and cost objectives are met. The Project Control Specialist supports project planning, risk, and issues management, reporting, and compliance activities while contributing to technical reviews and program milestones. 

 

Essential Duties: 

  • Support the maintenance and updates to project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) report requirements.
  • Coordinate stakeholder schedules for technical working groups, program management reviews, and equipment requirements meetings.
  • Document design and implementation plans, and participate in test, evaluation, and strategic planning activities
  • Ensure compliance with internal customer processes, customer requirements, and quality standards

 

Minimum Experience, Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, engineering, or related role


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting systems engineering or telecommunications projects
  • Coursework or certification in project management (CAPM, PMP, or similar)


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with end-users, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 95% of the time.

Work Environment: 

Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead waist level from floor), bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use, frequently fast paced environment.
