Parsons is seeking aJunior Environmental Professional / Project Information Specialistto join our team in Langley, BC. In this hybrid role, you will supportenvironmental project deliverywhile also stewarding environmental data andsupporting the systems, tools, and workflowsthat underpin projectdelivery.
What You'll Be Doing:
This is a hybrid position involving a combination of environmental project support and project information responsibilities. Approximately 50% of the role will focus on environmental projectdeliveryand 50% will focus on stewardship of environmental data, data management systems, and supporting workflows. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, technical staff, and other stakeholders across multiple projects. The responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Junior Environmental Professional Responsibilities(approximately 50%)
Assistwith coordination of site monitoring, investigation, and remediation projects, principally at active and vacant petroleum- and chemical-handling and storage properties.
Support project planning activities, including development of scopes of work, cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and deliverables.
Work with project teams, including field personnel, project coordinators, project managers, drafters, and administrative staff, to help ensure project tasks are completed on time andwithinbudget.
Perform data entry and QA/QC for soil, groundwater, and vapour data.
Prepare do-lists, health and safety plans, technical reports, memoranda, and other project documentation.
Support field work at local and remote sites, asrequired, including soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, and supervision of drillers and other contractors.
Project Information Specialist Responsibilities(approximately 50%)
Steward environmental data through receipt, validation, approval, storage, retrieval, and archiving.
Support the administration andmaintenanceofenvironmental data management systems, GIS platforms, and data collection systems, includingEQuIS,SiteCrest,OpenGround,gINT,Surfer,ArcGIS, andFormsOnFire/Appenate.
Perform QA/QC review of field, laboratory, and project data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and enhance templates, logs, macros, and other workflow tools that support environmental data management and reporting.
Implement updates to systems and workflows to reflect regulatory, client, and internal process changes, in consultation with senior professionals.
Prepare data summaries, tables, figures, and related outputs to support project delivery, reporting, and information exchange.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may beappropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Degree or diploma in earth sciences, civil, environmental, chemical, or geological engineering, or a similar program. Candidates with degrees in related science programs will also be considered.
Prior experience conducting site assessment, remediation, and technical reporting would be an asset.
Experience with environmental data entry, QA/QC, and data management would be an asset.
Familiarity with environmental data management systems such asEQuIS,SiteCrest,OpenGround,andgINT, GIS platforms such asArcGIS, and data collection systems such asFormsOnFirewill be considered an asset.
Experience withSharePointand collaboration/document management platforms will be considered an asset.
Exposure to coding, scripting, or macro development for process automation, particularly using Microsoft Excel, VBA, or similar tools, will be considered an asset.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Maturity in interaction and ability tooperateself-sufficiently in the office.
Demonstrates the values of safety, teamwork, service, integrity, and accountability.
A valid driver's license.
