Description
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- This position rotates between sailing as Relief Chief Engineer and Assistant Engineer. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all machinery on vessel, including preventative maintenance of all machinery
- Tools, equipment, parts and supplies to be cleaned, organized, and inventoried
- Retain maintenance logs, supply orders, equipment lists, etc
- Ensure the Engine Department is operated in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and Andrie Inc. Standard Operating Procedures
- Train subordinates as required
- Assist Port Engineer and Director of Engineering in the efficient planning and execution of approved winter work projects
Requirements
Licensing Requirements:
- Possess a valid USCG Engineers License with a minimum of Chief Engineer Limited or a DDE Unlimited
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and Fire Fighting Certificates
- Knowledge of all vessel systems; hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, diesels, propulsion and auxiliaries
- Basic computer skills
