Role Description The Account Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Muskegon, MI. This position is responsible for managing client accounts, including quoting, binding, and servicing personal and commercial insurance policies. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing coverage needs, processing policy changes, handling renewals, and responding to client inquiries in a timely, professional manner. The Account Manager will work directly with multiple carriers to secure appropriate coverage, resolve billing or claims-related questions, and ensure accurate documentation in agency systems. The role also involves maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication, identifying cross-sell opportunities, and supporting the agency’s growth and retention goals.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong client service and relationship management skills, including clear communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities.
• Candidates should possess organizational and administrative skills, such as attention to detail, time management, and proficiency with office and agency management software.
• Candidates should possess sales and account development skills, including comfort with discussing coverage options, presenting quotes, and identifying opportunities to expand client relationships.
• Candidates should possess basic insurance knowledge or the ability to quickly learn property, casualty, and commercial lines products and processes.
• Candidates should possess the ability to work collaboratively with team members and carriers, while also managing tasks independently and taking ownership of client outcomes.
• Relevant qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; a college degree or prior insurance experience is beneficial. An active Property & Casualty insurance license in Michigan (or willingness to obtain one) is strongly preferred.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with local Muskegon, MI markets, comfort working in a family-owned business environment, and a commitment to ethical, compliant client service.
