CNC Machinist II - 1st Shift

American Flowform and Machining is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. We specialize in high-performance flowforming and machining services, and we are looking for a dedicated professional who takes pride in producing top-tier components.
In this role, you won’t just be pushing buttons; you will be the owner of your workflow. From interpreting complex GD amp;T blueprints to independently running jobs on Fanuc, Mazak, and Mori Seiki controls, you will play a critical role in ensuring our production meets the highest industry standards. If you have 3–5+ years of experience, a sharp mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety, we want to hear from you.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes including changing out inserts and maintaining tool offsets
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Monitor production and make adjustments to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, pin gauges, etc.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and maintain equipment to minimize downtime
- Follow all safety policies, rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by Leads, Supervisors and/or Managers.
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of G-code and machining principles
- Proficient in blueprint reading and GD amp;T (Geometric Dimensioning amp; Tolerancing)
- Familiarity with IPI’s and inspection procedures
- Experienced in use of micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, verniers, and other precision measuring tools
- Hands-on experience with materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and others
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended period of time on a concrete manufacturing floor.
- Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Moderate twisting and bending.
- Moderate climbing on step stools or platforms.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years' operating CNC lathes
- Ability to work independently running jobs from start to finish
- Familiarity with different CNC controls including Fanuc, Mazak, and Mori Seiki
- Fully capable of reading, understanding, and following written and oral work instructions in English.
- Must be a US Citizen (required for facility compliance).
