The hours for this weekend closer position are: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 PM to 9 PM. This position can be either on-going or a summer position for a student.

But first… what is the Alpine Mart?   We are a convenience store with gasoline closest to Stowe Mountain Resort.  Our cashiers do more than just running a register.  coffee prep, stocking store shelves, filling the walk-in cooler, managing trash, cleaning, checking IDs, and handling light paperwork.  Providing friendly customer service is a fundamental of this position.

PREREQUISITES::

• Education: Some high school or equivalent.

• Experience & Skills: No previous experience required. That being said a proven ability to understand written and verbal instruction is needed.

• Physical: Must be able to work any area of the store when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES::

• The hours for this part-time position are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4P to 9PM.
• Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and ringing their sales.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the products we sell.
• Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to ring up gasoline, cigarettes, beer, wine and other purchases and computes the amount of the bill. Collects payment from guests and makes change. 
• Performs Cash-In/Out Procedure- accounting for all forms of money, during the shift.
• Fill cigarettes and tobacco, stock store shelves as needed, fill coolers with back stock.
• Checks and empties inside and outside trash receptacles each shift worked
• Breaks down boxes and places them in recycling.
• Manages coffee service including set up and break down depending on shift worked.
• Cleans and maintains all areas of the store to promote a clean image. Maintain public restrooms.
• Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards.
• Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
• Completes State of Vermont liquor training course as directed.
• Check IDs in accordance with State of Vermont regulations.

Alpine Mart is a Mobil gas station and convenience store located on Mountain Rd in Stowe, VT. Inside the store is the Alpine Deli which we own and operate as well. The Alpine Mart features a solid beer selection ranging from the usual mass-market brands like Budweiser to the more local craft breweries. We also sell an extensive offering of candy and salty snacks.
