Position Overview

All Class CDL Driving Training LLC is seeking a professional, safety-minded CDL Instructor to provide one-on-one Class A and Class B commercial driver training. Our instructors work directly with students to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to pass the New York State CDL Road Test and become safe professional drivers.

We pride ourselves on individualized instruction rather than large classroom settings. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one behind-the-wheel instruction for CDL Class A and Class B students.
• Train students in accordance with FMCSA ELDT requirements and New York State CDL standards.
• Teach vehicle inspections (pre-trip), backing maneuvers, range skills, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students for successful completion of the NYS CDL Road Test.
• Demonstrate safe driving techniques and defensive driving practices.
• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive coaching.
• Ensure all training is conducted in a safe, professional manner.
• Complete required training documentation and student records.
• Perform basic inspections of training vehicles before and after lessons.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the school positively.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding student progress and scheduling.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid Class A CDL (required)
• Current DOT Medical Certificate
• Clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years of recent commercial driving experience (preferred)
• Ability to pass a background check
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, dependable, and safety-oriented

Preferred

• Previous CDL instructor or driver trainer experience
• Knowledge of New York State CDL testing procedures
• ELDT instructor experience
• Experience operating manual transmissions
• Experience with Class A & B vehicles
