Role Description The Project Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Ames, IA. This position oversees flooring and design projects from initial customer consultation through final installation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating schedules with installation teams, preparing project estimates, tracking orders, managing job documentation, and communicating project status to customers and internal stakeholders. The role also involves organizing material deliveries, resolving issues that arise during projects, and supporting the showroom team with product information and customer service. The Project Coordinator helps maintain a smooth workflow between sales, design, vendors, and installers to deliver a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Project coordination and scheduling skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities.
  • Customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with clients, installers, vendors, and team members.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate estimating, documentation, and order tracking.
  • Basic knowledge of flooring products, interior design concepts, or construction processes (or willingness to learn).
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, scheduling tools) and comfort working with point-of-sale or project management systems.
  • Ability to work on-site, collaborate with a small team, and support a professional, dependable work environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in project coordination, construction, or retail is beneficial.
  • Reliable transportation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to stand or move around the showroom and job sites as needed.
