Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid Loan Officer role based in Virginia Beach, VA. The Loan Officer will work directly with prospective and current borrowers to guide them through the mortgage process, from initial inquiry and application to closing. Daily responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their financial goals, explaining loan products and eligibility requirements, collecting and reviewing documentation, and coordinating with underwriting, processing, and closing teams. The role involves generating and managing a pipeline of applications, maintaining accurate records in loan origination systems, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations and company policies. The Loan Officer will also build relationships with real estate professionals and other referral partners while consistently delivering a high level of customer service.


Qualifications

  • Experience in loan origination and working in a Loan Officer capacity, with a strong understanding of mortgage products and lending processes.
  • Knowledge of finance principles and cash flow analysis to evaluate borrower qualifications and recommend appropriate loan options.
  • Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and documentation requirements to collaborate effectively with underwriting and processing teams.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly, support clients through the application process, and manage expectations.
  • Ability to work with loan origination and CRM systems, with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Relevant state licensing and registration (e.g., NMLS) or eligibility to obtain required licenses within a defined timeframe.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Prior experience in mortgage lending, banking, or financial services, and a track record of meeting production and quality goals.
  • High ethical standards, commitment to regulatory compliance, and alignment with Equal Housing and Equal Opportunity lending practices.
