Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Staff Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric services across multiple facilities in the Dallas Texas area. This role requires a provider who is comfortable working in a rounding-based model, managing new admissions, and supporting ongoing patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Flexibility, efficiency, and strong clinical decision-making are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face inpatient psychiatric rounds
• Perform initial psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Provide diagnostic clarification and treatment planning
• Manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and facility staff for continuity of care
• Document all encounters in a timely and compliant manner
• Travel between assigned facilities as scheduled

Schedule & Coverage Requirements

• Flexible availability is required
• Must be able to round at a minimum of 4 facility locations
• Expected to provide coverage 3–4 weeks per month
• Scheduling will be coordinated based on provider availability and facility needs

Qualifications

• MD or DO with specialization in Psychiatry
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry preferred
• Active, unrestricted Florida medical license
• Active DEA license
• Experience in inpatient psychiatry and/or skilled nursing facilities (SNF) preferred
• Pain management experience is a strong plus
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced rounding environment
