The Spring is hiring a full time Advocate Support for Overnights (Monday thru Friday from 11pm-7am)

The Spring is a faith-based nonprofit serving those who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking and are searching for safety, advocacy, and restoration.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Advocate Support staff member to assist survivors residing in our crisis shelter program. This role involves providing direct support services, ensuring the smooth operation of the shelter, and helping maintain a safe, respectful, and client-centered environment. You will play a key role in offering advocacy, resources, and trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer crisis line calls and provide safety planning, crisis intervention, and intake services.
  • Support day-to-day shelter operations, ensuring a clean, welcoming, and secure environment.
  • Provide direct services including referrals, emergency assistance, and advocacy.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client services and interactions
  • Support meal preparation, transportation, and monitoring guest activity as needed.
  • Be available to respond to emergencies and occasional additional shifts as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience in domestic violence or sexual assault field, volunteer experience, or related experience is suggested
  • Experience working with diverse people and groups
  • Must be able to sign The Spring's Statement of Faith
  • A valid driver's license

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:


  • Knowledge & Client Support: Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and trauma-informed practices, with the ability to build professional relationships with guests and their children, maintain strict confidentiality, respond appropriately to emergencies, and effectively manage conflict.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Organization & Adaptability: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, maintain attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
