Summary:

Pearlstone, a 184 acre Retreat Center and Farm located in Northern Reisterstown, MD, is looking for a talented Sous Chef who is passionate about food and is a strong leader, to help lead and inspire our team. We specialize in Kosher Farm-to-Table wholesome meals prepared by a highly skilled team of culinarians.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Excellent cooking skills
• Be a Servant Leader and with strong coaching and mentoring ability
• Advanced knife skills
• Ordering and receiving experience including proper stock rotation and burn management
• Inventory management and menu costing experience
• Great attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs
• Have a modern and creative portfolio
• Practical understanding of HACCP
• Prioritize cleanliness and sanitation
• Comfortable with vendor interactions, ordering, and receiving
• The desire to work hand-in-hand with his/her Executive Chef to build and maintain a strong efficient team!

Ideal candidates will be available days, evenings, and weekends; exact days are negotiable. We prioritize an 8hour work day and encourage work-life balance, whenever possible. Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a restaurant or non-institutional commercial kitchen. Knowledge of kosher cooking a plus and experience with plant-based cooking a must.
