Absolute Road Control

Absolute Road Control is looking for an experienced Traffic Control Supervisor to lead our field operations. This role is critical for ensuring the safety of our crews and the public through professional setup and management of work zones. We are looking for a leader who is technically proficient in VDOT standards and can manage a team under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lane Closures: Lead the layout, setup, and removal of temporary lane closures, shifts, and shoulder closures according to VDOT Work Area Protection Manual standards.
• Supervision: Oversee flagging operations and ensure all team members are adhering to safety protocols and site-specific plans.
• Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all traffic control devices (signs, cones, drums, and arrow boards) are clean, functional, and correctly placed.
• Documentation: Maintain daily logs and reports regarding work zone setups and any incidents or public interactions.

Required Qualifications:

• Certification: Must possess a current VDOT Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control Certification.
• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience specifically setting up temporary lane closures and flagging operations.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of the VDOT Work Area Protection Manual and MUTCD guidelines.
• Leadership: Proven ability to direct a crew and communicate effectively with Project Managers and VDOT inspectors.
• Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in outdoor environments.
