Board Certified and Board Eligible physicians are welcomed to build a practice that develops long lasting relationships with our community's patients. We are looking for a talented and eager physician to assist our patients in navigating through their treatment plans and allow them to trust healthcare again.

AVALA is a premier 21-bed surgical hospital operating in Covington, Louisiana, which is located on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain, in the suburbs of New Orleans. In addition to the hospital, AVALA provides diagnostic imaging services, physical and hand therapy, physician clinics, and urgent orthopedic care. Primary Care Physician Responsibilities
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
