A Brief Overview
The Distribution Center Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and accurately removing and/or storing inventory using heavy equipment machinery. Equipment Operators will operate cross-functionally throughout the distribution center to ensure efficient running of the distribution center in order to meet customer needs. Leadership Responsibilities
• This position does not have people leadership responsibilities.
What You'll Do
• Put-away palletized units by raising forks for placement into high racks
• Pick palletized units and stages for inbound and outbound shipments
• Inventory materials and record weight of product via an RF system
• Load or unload material onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device
• Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
• Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operation
• Transport resolutions to designated area
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures
• Embodies and demonstrates company ethics and values
• Abides by all federal, state and local laws
How You'll Be Successful
• Knowledge of SAP and WMS
• Knowledge of operating and controlling forklift equipment
• Skilled at operation and control of forklift equipment
• Able to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
• Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Able to perform job in an efficient manner.
• Manual dexterity required: Must be able to have manual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to see, hear, speak and read in order to communicate with other employees and/or other customers.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb ladders, frequent lifting
• Must be able to count
• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
What You'll Need
• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work experience preferred
• 2-3 years driving experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment required
• Computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
