Position: Creative Pathways Educator 

Reports to: Executive Director

Category: Part-time (option to extend to full-time) In-Person

Salary Range: $25/hr (20 hours a week) 

Location: In-Person - ARCK Creativity Lab, Fenway (Boston) 


Role Description


ARCK is seeking a creative educator with experience in STEAM and a passion for social entrepreneurship to design and facilitate hands-on learning experiences for youth ages 12–18. This person should be comfortable working across disciplines and able to blend arts, technology, storytelling, identity and social consciousness into engaging educational experiences. 


ARCKs unique curriculum explores the themes of identity, community, society and social change and combines it with art, technology, project management and the skills to bring a creative hands-on project to life. The idea is that students will learn about themselves and the world around them and then learn how to use creative tools to create social change. 


The ideal candidate is an educator as well as an, artist, maker, or activist 

who believes in the power of creativity to help young people build confidence, voice,

belonging, and future pathways. They should have experience working with students from

diverse backgrounds, especially in under-resourced schools and communities, and know

how to create an inclusive, culturally responsive, and joyful learning environment.



About ARCK & the Creativity Lab


ARCK is a Boston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2012. We equip young people

with the tools to become creative, confident, and purposeful changemakers. Our

programs serve students from historically underserved communities across Boston,

where 91% identify as BIPOC and over 80% come from low-income households. Through

our Creativity Lab in Fenway and our Creative Pathways Program, we reimagine what

learning can be through a compassion-driven community where youth build skills,

discover strengths, and create futures they choose—grounded in creativity, belonging,

and real-world pathways to college and career.


ARCK serves youth ages 12–18 through multidisciplinary, project-based learning that

blends the arts, design, storytelling, leadership, civic engagement, and social

entrepreneurship with STEM/STEAM exploration. Our work is rooted in creativity, human

connection, and equitable access to opportunity, with a strong commitment to students

from historically under-resourced communities.


Key responsibilities:

  • Develop curriculum and educational content.
  • Collaborate effectively with ARCK staff, teaching artists, and mentors
  • Teach and facilitate discussions about identity, community and social change 
  • Teach STEM skills including 3D printing and computer Animation 
  • Lead art lessons including water color painting, drawing and simple crafts projects 
  • Help students build creative confidence, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving skills
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment
  • Support student portfolio development and project management skills 
  • Manage educational programs including but not limited to preparing equipment and materials, figuring out schedules and logistics and participating in organization planning meetings.
  • Manage and maintain makerspace equipment including computers, 3D printers, art supplies, etc.



Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of teaching experience, preferably grades 9–12
  • curriculum development experience
  • Maker technology experience 
  • The ability to take initiative and manage a project independently. 
  • Interdisciplinary art skills
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • A passion for social change 
  • Commitment to equity and experience working with diverse communities, especially students in under-resourced schools



Desired Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in education, engineering, art or a related field 
  • Experience with Scratch programing 
  • Animation experience 
  • 3D printing experience with Tinkercad 
  • Makerspace experience 
  • Experience with business skills, social entrepreneurship and advocacy and an understanding of society, identity and diversity. 
  • Leadership experience
