Job description

Serving customers worldwide, apg powers cash management solutions across a wide range of global industries and verticals. From general application cash drawers to SMARTtill® Cash Management Solutions, apg delivers innovative technologies that enhance efficiency and security at the point of sale.

Join apg as a Senior Manager of Software and Electronics Engineering and help shape the next generation of connected products, embedded systems, electronics, software, and cloud-enabled technologies. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an engineering leader who wants to influence product strategy, guide architecture, develop strong teams, and bring innovative ideas from concept to scalable, reliable solutions.

This role is a strong fit for an engineering leader who enjoys setting technical direction while staying close to the work. You will guide architecture decisions, coach and develop engineering talent, partner across functions, and help external engineering and development partners execute effectively.

  • Shape the technical direction for software, electronics, embedded systems, cloud platforms, APIs, SDKs, connectivity, and connected-product technologies.
  • Partner closely with Product Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams to bring integrated solutions to market.
  • Lead current product support while also helping define the roadmap for future technology platforms.
  • Build and mentor engineering talent while strengthening APG’s software and electronics capabilities.
  • Drive innovation, architecture, quality, scalability, security, and long-term product success.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an engineering leader who wants ownership, visibility, technical challenge, and the chance to help shape APG’s software, electronics, and connected-product capabilities at a meaningful stage of growth.

Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Software and Electronics Engineering will lead APG’s digital and electronics technology organization, including electronics hardware, embedded software, cloud software, APIs, SDKs, connectivity, and connected-product technologies. This leader will help define technology strategy, strengthen engineering practices, support successful product delivery, and guide innovation through commercialization and lifecycle support.

Working closely with Hardware and Product Engineering leadership, the Senior Manager will ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and cloud technologies across the product portfolio and support execution of the long-term product roadmap. The successful candidate will build high-performing engineering teams, establish technology architecture, and drive engineering excellence from concept through commercialization and lifecycle support.
