Job description

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Courier Dispatcher to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the daily operations of courier drivers, ensuring efficient delivery schedules, timely pickups and exceptional customer service. This role requires excellent communication skills, multitasking ability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, route, and dispatch courier drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of packages
  • Monitor and track delivery progress, addressing any delays or issues promptly to minimize disruptions
  • Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details, provide updates and address inquiries or concerns
  • Utilize dispatching software and tools to plan routes and optimize driver assignments
  • Maintain accurate records of driver activities, delivery times and completed assignments
  • Drive a company owned vehicle while making multiple stops throughout your day occassionally
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure packages and prepared and ready for dispatch
  • Monitor driver performance and provide feedback to ensure adherences to company standards and policies
  • Manage emergency situations, such as vehicle breakdowns or weather disruptions, by reallocating resources
  • Prepare and analyze reports on delivery performance, efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Hard worker with outstanding work ethic and reliable

Job Requirements

  • Valid TX driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Proven dispatching experience with Fedex, Amazon or logistics operations
  • Maintains all company equipment and vehicles in good condition
  • Proficiency in using dispatching software, telematic systems and smart phone applications
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with drivers/customers
  • Follows all safety precautions and policies according to company guidelines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to handling operational challenges
  • Ability to lift 5 to 50 pounds of merchandise
