The incumbent for this position is responsible for timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting. In addition, this position ensures the ongoing development/maintenance of an efficient and effective financial and accounting control environment throughout the organization. It also ensures that the Credit Union is in continuous compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory agency reporting requirements. Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities:


Financial Reporting & Controls (30%)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the overall accounting and financial recordkeeping processes
  • Prepare financial reports, analyze results, and present findings along with recommendations
  • Review existing and proposed processes across the organization to ensure proper safeguarding of assets
  • Coordinate the reporting of monthly financial results to Senior Management and the Board


Cross-Functional Representation & Audit Liaison (15%)

  • Represent the Accounting Group in cross-functional initiatives and corporate projects
  • Ensure financial recordkeeping and reporting considerations are integrated into decision-making
  • Serve as the lead accounting contact for external auditors and regulatory examiners


Corporate Estimates Oversight (10%)

  • Oversee corporate estimates, including the allowance for loan and lease loss calculations
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis


Strategic Planning & Performance Tracking (15%)

  • Partner with executive leadership to track and report on strategic initiatives
  • Develop dashboards and KPI frameworks to monitor progress
  • Ensure alignment with financial and operational goals
  • Provide actionable insights to drive timely decision-making and accountability


Team Leadership & Development (15%)

  • Build, motivate, and develop a high-performing accounting team
  • Recognize staff contributions and ensure readiness to meet current and future organizational needs


Process Improvement & Technology Enablement (15%)

  • Leverage technical expertise to drive process improvements and automation
  • Evaluate and implement systems, tools, and data integrations
  • Streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and support scalable financial operations


Position requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance required, graduate degree in business studies preferred
  • C.P.A. designation required
  • Working knowledge of financial and managerial accounting principles including investments, loan loss reserve, and cost accounting methodologies as applied in a financial services industry environment
  • Extensive knowledge of computer information systems including budgeting, general ledger and reporting systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting requirements for a financial institution
  • Minimum ten years’ experience in accounting/finance position with at least five years’ experience in a management role
  • Strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills required
