Job Title: Bar Manager - Nights and Weekends

Department: F&B

Reports To: Hotel Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 Summary: The Bar Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of bar operations, including staff supervision, inventory control, customer service, and financial performance. The role ensures a high-quality guest experience while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations..

 Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee daily bar operations and ensure smooth service*
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards*
  • Monitor bar ambiance, music, and overall customer experience*
  • Recruit, train, and schedule bartenders and bar staff *
  • Supervise staff performance and provide feedback*
  • Handle employee issues and maintain a positive work environment*
  • Ensure excellent service and customer satisfaction*
  • Handle complaints and resolve conflicts professionally *
  • Build relationships with regular customers*
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships*
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and reduce wastage *
  • Ensure proper storage of beverages and supplies*
  • Monitor sales, expenses, and profitability*
  • Set pricing strategies and control costs*
  • Prepare reports on revenue and performance*
  • Ensure compliance with liquor laws and licensing regulations*
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service *
  • Maintain health and safety standards*

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage employees in the Beverage department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 Qualifications:

 Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, inventory, design, and internet software, payroll systems, human resource systems, and contact management systems.

 Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
