Job Title: Appliance Repair Technician

Location: Wood Dale, IL office location - Service Territory is South Suburbs (Burbank, Oak Lawn, etc)

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Appliance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain residential appliances. In this role, you will travel to clients' homes to diagnose and repair equipment, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair major household appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, and microwaves.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical schematics, and service manuals.
  • Provide clear, transparent repair estimates and explanations of work to customers.
  • Safely recover and handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of replacement parts and tools within the company service vehicle.
  • Complete digital work orders, document parts used, process payments, and track daily schedules via mobile management software.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area at client locations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or trade school certification is a plus.
  • Experience in appliance repair preferred; commercial experience is a plus.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or Type I) required for refrigerant handling.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 75 lbs, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces.
