Position Summary
AVC Laboratory is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Calibration Technician to perform calibrations, inspections, and related technical services on a wide variety of test and measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform calibrations and functional testing on a variety of measurement and test equipment.
- Generate accurate calibration data and certificates.
- Maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 quality requirements and laboratory procedures.
- Review equipment specifications and calibration requirements.
- Troubleshoot measurement equipment and identify out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Document calibration results and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure measurement traceability through proper use of calibration standards.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and laboratory housekeeping.
- Communicate technical findings to supervisors and customers when required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines is highly desirable:
- Electrical
- Pressure
- Temperature & Humidity
- Torque
- Dimensional
- Flow
- Force
- Photometry
- Aviation Test Equipment
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Physics, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.
- Military calibration experience, PMEL, TMDE, or equivalent experience is highly valued.
- Minimum 1–3 years of calibration, electronics, metrology, aviation maintenance, or related technical experience preferred.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and move throughout the laboratory as needed.
- Ability to work with precision instruments and small components.
