Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavorial Health Care (Primary Care) Job Overview:

  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.
  • Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established procedures.
  • Perform physical exam and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Perform nursing services in an outpatient family practice setting
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavorial Health Care (Primary Care) Job Qualifications:

  • BLS
  • Computer Competency
  • RN Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license. Any U.S. state license.
  • Associates Degree of Nursing (ADN)
  • Graduate from a NLNAC or CCNE accredited college or university
  • 1 year outpatient experience as an ambulatory care nurse with experience such as psychiatric nursing or behavioral health and wellness counseling within the last two years
  • At least three years of total nursing experience in a direct patient care clinical setting
  • Certified/CE by ANCC as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse

  • Knowledge of mental health levels of care to include post-hospital and acute care illness stabilization. Ability to anticipate and articulate to health management, and/or interdisciplinary team members, the patients' needs requirements, abilities and limitation
  • Knowledge of human growth and development, and pathophysiology of disease processes, as they apply to the care environment for all ages of the spectrum
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects and complications for their use, as well as accurate administration of the psychopharmacologic agents
  • Possess skill and tact in communicating with people who may be physically or mentally ill, uncooperative, fearful, emotionally distraught, and occasionally dangerous
  • Forms of Communication include telephonic assessment and in person assessment
