Location: San Antonio, Texas

Department: Purchasing / Procurement

Industry: Food Manufacturing

Reports to: Director of Supply Chain Management

Status: Full Time - Exempt - Onsite


Jones Networking is recruiting for a Procurement Manager to join a food manufacturing facility in San Antonio, TX. Key responsibilities include; leading the procurement team, procuring raw and perishable materials, managing stock levels and maintaining supplier relationships. Procurement Manager Position Summary:

- Source and purchase all materials related to manufacturing processes.

- Develop a clear understanding of the business and technical aspects of the Purchasing / Procurement function in order to lead the department to successfully and efficiently deliver products and services.

- Conduct vendor contract negotiations.

- Maintain procedures and guidelines for purchasing policies.

- Initiate cost reduction activities for major suppliers.

- Supervise purchasing employees; establish workload and evaluation of performance.

- Manage vendor master files.

- Develop and implement purchasing strategies which support the business objectives of the manufacturing processes.

- Provide leadership towards the resolution of all procurement related issues.

- Champion process improvements by being proactive and working with internal departments to meet company's objectives.

- Ensure compliance with government standards and regulations with respect to procurement guidelines.


Qualifications Summary:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance or a related field.

- CPM, CPPO, CPPB or SPSM certification preferred.

- Minimum five years of experience in purchasing; solid financial analysis and negotiation abilities.

- Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, with all levels of management.

- Experience and competency in MS Office and procurement ERP

- Ability to work independently and as an energetic, caring, and self- driven team player.
