Job description

FIT Representative

Salary: $44-46,000/year

Classification: Non-Exempt

Scope of Position: This position provides guidance and other services to various customers to assure job placement and retention, while meeting customer satisfaction goals. This position explains and informs customers about the various programs available. This position also provides information and referrals to access community resources. While responding and addressing customer interactions, this position will perform basic secretarial work, including data entry, conducting phone calls, and filing.

Essential Functions:
  • Promote all programs and services available to customers/jobseekers
  • Address all customer identified needs and barriers with appropriate resolution plans and expected outcome achievement dates in customers' plans
  • Motivate and encourage jobseekers to advance employment and training
  • Provide overview of available job search resources, workshops, and orientations
  • Responsible for facilitating one-on-one appointments for resume support as needed
  • Manage jobseeker expectations
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints
  • Participate in staff meetings and development training
  • Determine program eligibility and accurately complete required documentation for enrollment
  • Coordinate overall online and in-person intake, assessment, and orientation process
  • Ensure applicants understand the parameters that specific program offers
  • Demonstrate, maintain, and communicate programmatic policies and procedures
  • Provide referrals as needed to local partnering agencies through partner referral portal
  • Coordinate customer participation in program specific activities
  • Provide clear guidance and expectations of customer program participation
  • Input data collection and update all progress in program designated data tracking systems
  • Maintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contacts
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for walk-in customers
  • Conduct orientation and various workshops for new and existing customers, as needed
  • Maintain and submit program required reports assigned for designated programs
  • Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies
  • Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by EDSI, Board, and State
  • Work with the team on implementing processes that increase positive customer engagement
  • Support CSCR satellite locations, as needed
  • Represent EDSI and CSCR at events such as job fairs, info sessions, and partner trainings
  • Other opportunities as available
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Experience in recruitment, customer service, and/or placement services
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Florida Workforce Professional Certification Tier I required (must be completed within 30 days of employment)
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Comfortable presenting information and educating small groups
  • Ability to provide optimal customer service and advocacy using a customer-centered approach
