Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability. The ideal candidate has experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and industrial machinery, along with a strong commitment to safety and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, rollers, pumps, and drive systems.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Install, align, and replace motors, shafts, couplings, and other mechanical components.
- Perform welding, cutting, and light fabrication as needed to repair or modify equipment.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, equipment manuals, and schematics.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment that includes electrical controls, motors, sensors, and PLC-operated systems.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Complete work orders and document maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and comply with company safety standards.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and pumps.
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS software and preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
