We’re excited to announce the winner of our Summer 2017 Scholarship Promotion: Morissa Szmyt.
Morissa is currently enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management. As our grand prize winner, she will receive a $3,000 educational scholarship from ZipRecruiter!
The Summer 2017 Scholarship Promotion gave entrants 3 prompt options:
- Give a brief overview of your city and what makes it unique
- Provide an overview of the job market that is unique to your city (popular industries, companies, opportunities)
- Write about how ZipRecruiter can help you find a job in your city
Morissa responded to the second prompt by creating an infographic essay detailing the job market in Atlanta, Georgia. After receiving over 500 scholarship entries, we chose Morissa’s entry for its sharp analytical analysis and innovative approach to integrating complex data points. Morissa’s infographic essay seamlessly presents statistical information alongside artistic elements in a new and engaging way.
Here’s what Morissa had to say about how this scholarship will impact her future:
“Getting my MBA has always been an aspiration, but it wasn’t until moving to a new city that I found myself unable to compete with my experience alone. The job market here is much different than the one I left and I realized that if I wanted career longevity in my new home I needed go back to school. Enrolling in an MBA program was one of the scariest decisions of my life, but ultimately I believe it’s an investment in my future. Returning to school is a considerable financial burden. This scholarship truly will enable me to achieve my dream of completing my higher education and setting a positive example for my daughter of what working women can accomplish.”
Congratulations to Morissa and great job to everyone who submitted!
Be sure to participate in our Fall 2017 Scholarship Promotion for another chance to to receive a $3,000 scholarship.
College or university students can enter the competition between now and December 31.
