About the Position: Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking a creative, detail-driven, initiative-taking Multimedia Producer / Public Broadcast Specialist II to join our television production team. You'll collaborate with other producers, writers, and technical crew to bring ideas to life through video, graphics, and sound. From concept development to final delivery, you'll lead and contribute across all stages of production. Videography, editing, field and studio sound capture are the focus of the position.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with producers to visualize stories, simplify complex ideas, and develop content with a strong narrative arc.Edit video, graphics, and audio using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro).Initiate, produce, shoot and light interviews, b-roll, and studio content as needed.Operate and assist in studio and field production including cameras, switcher, teleprompter, and technical directing.Work independently and as part of a team to produce content from start to finish.Manage production schedules and deadlines across multiple projects.Maintain high technical and editorial standards, ensuring content meets broadcast and platform specifications.Please submit the following:Resume, and Cover letter describing your interest in public media and this role; A portfolio or demo reel links with examples of animation, motion graphics, and video editing work created within the past five years. Include links and descriptions of your role in each project.
What you'll need to be Successful: Ability to juggle multiple deadlines with grace and good humor.Ability to problem solve, find answers to questions, and take initiative and responsibility for gathering information.Strong skill set in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop). Comfort and knowledge in operating studio production tools including video switchers, broadcast cameras, and advanced lighting setups. Familiarity of the post-production process for broadcast.Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Creative thinker with a passion for public media and mission-driven content.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 1-4 years of experience. Hiring agency prefers:Experience writing scripts or treatments for visual content. Bachelor's degree in Journalist, Multimedia, Communications or related field. 10-12 years of professional experience in video production or broadcast media focused on storytelling for public media or brands. Experience with video editing, audio editing, and integrating music and voiceover into visuals. This role is ideal for a multifaceted media professional with 10-12 years of experience in planning, producing, scripting, motion design, animation, and video production, and a passion for visual storytelling.
