Job description

The Paralegal will work closely with management, attorneys, land professionals, and outside counsel to support legal, land, regulatory, and real estate matters. This position requires someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strict attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and organize legal documents, contracts, leases, assignments, deeds, easements, and other legal instruments.
  • Assist with oil & gas land matters, including:
    • Title review and ownership verification
    • Oil & gas leases
    • Assignments and conveyances
    • Division orders
    • Surface use agreements
    • Right-of-way and easement documents
    • Due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures
  • Coordinate with landmen, title companies, attorneys, operators, and government agencies.
  • Maintain corporate records and entity documentation.
  • Support commercial and residential real estate acquisitions, sales, leasing, and financing transactions.
  • Prepare closing documents and coordinate transaction closings.
  • Research county records, regulatory filings, and public records.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance, including Railroad Commission filings and other state and local requirements.
  • Track legal deadlines, renewals, and document expirations.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical legal files.
  • Assist management with special projects and corporate initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of paralegal experience.
  • Experience in oil & gas land administration is required.
  • Experience in commercial and residential real estate transactions.
  • Knowledge of title documents, mineral ownership, leases, assignments, deeds, easements, and related legal documents.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and document preparation.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with county records, title systems, Enverus, or other land management software is a plus.
