Job description

Security Guard – 3rd Shift

This position is primarily responsible for providing overnight security at IMS during the 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.), along with other duties as directed. In this role, you'll help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across the Indianapolis Motor Speedway campus. You'll be responsible for monitoring facilities and grounds, responding to incidents, and supporting the safety of employees, guests, and company assets.

Your responsibilities include patrolling buildings and grounds on the properties, maintaining security at all gates, assuring only properly credentialed vehicles and pedestrians are entering the property, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure, maintaining security log records and submitting daily to the security supervisor, informing violators of rule infractions, notifying law enforcement of individuals engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, monitoring and reporting irregularities, responding to CSC alarms, providing information regarding incidents, opening gates, buildings, and elevators, preparing incident reports, assisting authorized visitors, monitoring outgoing personnel and vehicles, providing security for the administration building during non-business days and hours, monitoring the employee parking lot arm gate, maintaining enthusiasm for and commitment to the corporation, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety and Security.

Required experience and skills include minimum 1-year experience in a security-related field or equivalent experience, valid driver's license, high integrity and ability to problem solve, strong communication and collaboration skills, a proactive, flexible mindset and commitment to excellence, passion for creating memorable experiences, cultural competence and the ability to thrive in a diverse environment, alignment with Penske Entertainment's core values and standards, and a high school graduate or GED.

This position is a fixed 3rd shift schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Extended hours required during race weekends and key event periods (especially May). Our teams work together to create flexibility that supports life in and out of work.

Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., must have the stamina to work overnight, extended periods of standing or walking (as needed), and comfort working indoors/outdoors and around event noise. Work environment includes work performed both indoors and outdoors, often independently and with limited direct supervision, and work outdoors requires physical strength and stamina to endure extreme heat, cold, rain, dust, and other conditions.
