MDH Office of Enterprise Technology (OET)\r\nInfrastructure & Operations Division\r\n201 W. Preston Street\r\nBaltimore, MD 21201\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position will be to plan, coordinate, and support audiovisual (AV) and video teleconferencing (VTC) information technology systems for meetings, events, and hybrid productions. This position will facilitate use of technology hardware and software resources to ensure successful execution of internet and internal meetings, workshops and other events to meet the needs of the MDH. This position will also ensure reliable, high-quality audio and video services that support communication, collaboration, and operations across MDH OET locations.\r\n\r\n\r\nIn addition, this position requires the selected candidate to:\r\n\r\n\r\n Be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.\r\n Have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\nExperience: One year of experience responding to Help Desk calls from users of computer systems.\r\nNotes:\r\n1.Candidates may substitute additional experience operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing or maintaining informationon a year-for-year basis for the required education.\r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Cyberand Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the InformationTechnology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience as a Video Technician or in a similar role, preferably in the events, entertainment, or AV industry.\r\n Strong technical experience working with audiovisual equipment, including cameras, video switchers, LED walls, projectors, and signal processors.\r\n Experience with live streaming and presentation software, such as ATEM control, OBS, Wirecast, Vimeo Livestream, Adobe suite, Propresenter 7, & Powerpoint, Facebook Live, Instagram Livem Twitch, YouTube Live, TikTok Live.\r\n Experience troubleshooting technical issues quickly and effectively under pressure, ensuring minimal disruption to events.\r\n Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n

BENEFITS

\r\nContractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r\nLeave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r\n\r\n
