Your Impact:

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the administrative and system processes of the shipping department. This role focuses on EDI order processing, shipment documentation, scheduling carrier pickups, Bill of Lading creation, international shipping documentation, and vendor compliance.


The Shipping Specialist will work closely with customer service, warehouse teams, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure all shipments are processed accurately, on time, and according to customer routing guidelines and regulatory requirements.


Your Focus:

  • Process and coordinate daily shipments using shipping systems and EDI portals
  • Create and manage shipping labels using carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, LTL carriers, etc.)
  • Generate Bills of Lading (BOL) for LTL and freight shipments
  • Schedule and coordinate daily carrier pickups
  • Monitor shipment status and track packages to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain accurate shipment records including tracking numbers, carrier information, and shipment documentation
  • Process orders through EDI platforms such as SPS Commerce and retailer portals
  • Ensure all shipments follow customer routing guides and vendor compliance requirements
  • Coordinate with customer service regarding order requirements, special instructions, or shipping deadlines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI shipping issues
  • Prepare and process international shipment documentation including, Commercial invoices, Packing lists, Export documentation and SLI or other required export documents
  • Coordinate international shipments via air, ocean, and courier services
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and customs requirements
  • Process shipments through Amazon Vendor/Seller Central and other retailer portals
  • Schedule deliveries and appointments with distribution centers when required
  • Ensure all labeling and routing requirements are met for retail partners
  • Hazmat & Regulatory Compliance
  • Prepare documentation and labels for hazardous materials shipments according to regulations
  • Ensure shipments comply with carrier and regulatory requirements for hazmat products
  • Act as a liaison between shipping, customer service, warehouse teams, and carriers
  • Communicate shipment updates, delays, or issues to internal teams
  • Coordinate with pickers, packers, and material handlers to ensure orders are shipped correctly
  • Maintain shipping documentation and SOPs
  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist in reporting shipment data and performance metrics


Learning & Certifications:

  • BS in Business or related field preferred


Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptional communication and organization skills
  • Experience with shipping via UPS & Fed Ex
  • Experience with shipping to department stores & following vendor standards and routing guides
  • Experience with shipping internationally
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and must be a team player
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Hazardous materials shipping experience a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • SLI and SED knowledge
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
