The Investigative Services Legal Technology team supports Sony Pictures legal, investigative, and related business functions through eDiscovery, digital forensics, data recovery, legal hold management, information governance and digital evidence preservation. - Support the operation, maintenance, and modernization of the Investigative Services Legal Technology Lab environment, including hardware, software, infrastructure, and forensic tools.
- Assist with supervised digital forensics, eDiscovery, data recovery, and evidence preservation activities across computers, mobile devices, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
- Help improve team efficiency through automation, workflow enhancements, reporting, documentation, and internal system updates.
- Support lab readiness through asset tracking and organization, device preparation, software configuration, monitoring, patching and technology asset lifecycle activities.
- Participate in research, testing and proof of concept work involving emerging forensic, investigative, artificial intelligence and legal technology tools.
- Provide technical support to lab users and assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, networking and infrastructure issues.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, Digital Forensics, Information Technology or a related field.
- Strong interest in Digital Forensics, eDiscovery, Cybersecurity, Investigations, or Data Governance.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of various operating systems, file systems, storage technologies and PC hardware.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with network administration such as Active Directory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute on tasks requiring immediate attention.
Preferred Qualifications
- Personal projects involving Networking hardware, Digital Forensics, Information Security, Investigations or Data Analytics.
- Experience working with structured data, reporting tools, PowerShell, SQL, Python, or automation workflows.
