ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a mid-level QA Engineer for a 12-month hybrid contract based in St. Louis, MO, Charlotte, NC, or Denver, CO. As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, documenting, and executing formal test plans to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality applications and solutions. You will work closely with both business and technology teams to perform manual and automated testing, identify opportunities for test automation, manage defects, and drive improvements in testing efficiency and coverage. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases for enterprise applications
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts
  • Perform manual and automated testing across web, API, database, and enterprise applications
  • Execute API testing using tools and frameworks such as Rest Assured, Karate, and SOAPUI
  • Develop automated test scripts using Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies
  • Execute SQL Server queries and validate data within relational databases
  • Navigate and validate web applications and websites
  • Read, create, and manipulate flat files as part of testing activities
  • Document defects thoroughly and provide diagnostic information to support issue resolution
  • Monitor defect trends, test execution status, test coverage, and other quality assurance metrics
  • Participate in defect triage and collaborate with development teams to resolve identified issues
  • Support application releases and enterprise technology initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation, efficiency, and overall quality
  • Create and evaluate test scenarios to ensure test coverage, accuracy, and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure high-quality application delivery
  • Support and participate in regular meetings to ensure quality in your engagement
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, software development, or related technical disciplines
  • Experience performing both manual and automated testing within enterprise environments
  • Experience working within Agile development methodologies
  • Proficiency in creating, executing, and maintaining test cases and test plans
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Experience with API testing and automation (Rest Assured, Karate, SOAPUI)
  • Ability to execute SQL queries and work with relational databases (SQL Server)
  • Experience navigating and validating web applications
  • Ability to read, create, and manipulate flat files
  • Experience documenting defects and supporting defect triage
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and testing best practices
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar automation scripting languages
  • Experience with Jira and test management tools (TestRail, HPQC, or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify creative solutions to technical challenges
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
  • Nice to have: Experience with Playwright, Octane, Selenium, CI/CD pipelines, API automation frameworks, and telecommunications environments
