Our client in Buffalo, NY, is looking for a Director of ITto join their team!
This is an on-site/full-time/permanent position
Salary range based on experience: Up to $150K
We're seeking a hands-on IT Director to own technology vision, architecture, and execution. This leader will set the multi-year roadmap, drive AI adoption, oversee cybersecurity, manage all vendors, and ensure our systems scale across offices in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap.
  • Align technology investments with firm growth and operational priorities.
  • Conduct systems audits, cost/benefit analysis, and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Evaluate, implement, and govern AI tools for legal workflows and back-office automation.
  • Create firm-wide AI usage policies and ethical guardrails.
  • Train attorneys and staff on responsible AI use.
  • Oversee MyCase, Microsoft 365, communication platforms, and legal tech tools.
  • Ensure system reliability, integration, and scalability across multi-office operations.
  • Manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor SLAs.
  • Lead cybersecurity strategy, network reliability, and data protection.
  • Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international privacy requirements.
  • Deliver technology and AI training across the firm.
  • Drive adoption of new tools and automation.
  • Partner with the COO on tech-enabled process improvements.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership (CTO, VP Tech, Director IT, Head of Engineering).
  • Hands-on experience implementing and governing AI tools.
  • Strong cybersecurity and disaster recovery background.
  • Vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
  • Professional services or regulated industry experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical strategy for non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
