Job Summary
Scattermesh is expanding its team and we are looking to hire an experienced 3D Pipeline Engineer to work across client projects on a full time basis on-site in Herndon, VA. This role requires a keen problem solving mind with technical knowledge across standard software packages used in VFX workflows. The ideal candidate has vast experience engineering software solutions in support of artists and production pipelines.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Build - Develop, integrate and maintain custom scripts and tools in support of both content creation and production management pipelines.
  • Teach - Create documentation and tutorials for tools and integrations, provide help desk support to production.
  • Problem Solve - Work with artists, leads, supervisors and IT staff to understand day to day production needs and find unique solutions to problems the team is encountering.

Qualifications and Skills
  • 10+ years hands-on experience working on studio pipelines as a pipeline engineer or technical artist
  • Experience developing and maintaining production-level plug-ins and automations, and debugging and optimizing VFX asset workflows
  • Deep technical understanding of Maya and other DCC software packages and how assets move between them in production.
  • Experience with databases, version control, and production management software such as Kitsu, FTrack, etc
  • Experienced in Python, Maya API, other languages a plus
  • Familiarity with network render queuing systems
  • General understanding of networking and performance issues
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage project goals with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • US citizenship required
