The Opportunity
We are seeking a GIS Analyst with ArcGIS Pro Python Toolbox development experience. The Candidate will utilize the ESRI platform to develop, execute and manage the production of various processes, in coordination with project and program leadership.
You will aid in the development and application of exploratory data analysis techniques to include data mining, aggregation, and visualizations in support of operations relating to foreign ground force mobility. This includes research and development into weapon system characterizations and operational capabilities.
You will develop and integrate ETL pipelines for geospatial and non-geospatial data into an interactive map application using ArcGIS Online Portal. The work involves ensuring data is readily available in industry standardized formats/data structures, so that it may easily be ingested in current applications used to address ongoing and new operation intelligence questions.
Responsibilities

  • Develop GIS models utilizing a wide range of data science tools and data sources. The candidate will primarily use ArcGIS Pro to visualize and predict mobility thresholds of ground-based military systems and platforms. The candidate will model these systems under a multitude of environmental conditions using a variety of raster/vector datasets, e.g., topographic, weather, road networks.
  • Developing research designs (including formulating testable questions, identifying, and defining key concepts and variables, and matching appropriate methods to problems.)
  • Data analysis and modeling (including manipulating datasets and interpreting findings using a mix of programs/environments (such as R, Python, ArcPy, Matlab, Excel) and techniques (e.g., text and pattern analysis, supervised and unsupervised data clustering, classification, change/anomaly detection, time-series, regression, geospatial, and/or social network analysis.)
  • Develop process flows/visualizations and technological developmental roadmaps.

Qualifications
*Required:*

  • BA/BS degree in a related scientific field (Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Data Analysis, Computer Science)
  • Proficient with ArcGIS Pro toolkits, i.e., Spatial Analyst, Spatial Statistics, Network Analyst
  • Able to convert ArcGIS Desktop toolkits written in Python 2.x into ArcGIS Pro Python toolboxes written in Python 3.x
  • 3+ years of experience as GIS Analyst or closely related field.
  • Active in scope DoD TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph
  • Ability to conduct analysis and produce comprehensive technical assessments that include independent research and technical writing.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal oversight while maintaining focus on research objectives defined by the client.
