Position Summary:

Henkels & McCoy West, LLC is seeking an experienced Design Distribution Supervisor (T&D) to lead and oversee departmental operations and project execution. This role is responsible for managing team performance, ensuring successful delivery of projects across scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality, and maintaining strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with deep technical expertise in overhead transmission and distribution design, strong project management capabilities, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.


Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff, office operations, and equipment to ensure efficient daily performance
  • Oversee overall department performance, including scope, bidding, safety, quality, schedule, cost, innovation, and customer satisfaction
  • Provide guidance and coaching during project initiation and planning phases
  • Monitor operational and project budgets; review weekly financial reports
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal leadership
  • Support internal design and planning services
  • Drive business development with existing and prospective clients
  • Participate in internal and external meetings
  • Support bid efforts through estimating, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
  • Report project status and performance metrics to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Project Management Methodology (PMM)
  • Champion and model a strong safety culture
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Manage resource allocation, including acquisition and release of staff
  • Travel and work extended hours as needed to support project demands

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Transmission & Distribution overhead design and/or planning
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong knowledge of NESC and GO 95 guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with underground transmission & distribution design and/or planning
  • Familiarity with Southern California Edison (SCE) design standards
  • Experience using SPIDAcalc and SPIDAMin pole loading software
  • Experience with SCE systems such as SAP, FIM, Circuit Maps, and AUD
  • Experience working with municipalities and investor-owned utilities in California
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • EIT or PE license preferred
  • PMP certification is a plus

Salary Range: $91,600/yr to $137,500/yr (will be dependent upon level of experience)
