About the Role

We are seeking an Financial Analyst to support the organization's financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities. This role partners closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver accurate financial insights, support strategic decisionmaking, and improve financial visibility across the business. The ideal candidate is analytical, detailoriented, and able to communicate financial concepts clearly to nonfinance stakeholders. This role will report to the FP&A Manager and is expected to work from the UPSTACK NYC HQ at least three (3) times a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial commentary
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for senior leadership, including P&L, headcount, and KPI reporting
  • Build and maintain financial models to support business planning, scenario analysis, and strategic investment decisions
  • Partner with department leaders to track spending against budget and identify financial risks and opportunities
  • Support longrange financial planning and assess the financial impact of key business initiatives
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for the board, investors, and lenders
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate financial reporting processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or a related analytical role
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to nonfinance stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadlinedriven environment

Preferred Tools & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, formulas, data analysis)
  • Experience with financial planning and forecasting systems (e.g., Vena, Adaptive, Anaplan)
  • Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Exposure to board, investor, or lender reporting
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA (preferred but not required)

Salary Range

Employees new to UPSTACK typically come in at the start of the pay range. UPSTACK focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure, which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, and job-related skills. 

The salary range for this role is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00.
