Description
Dana Safety Supply is seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) with strong benefits administration and compliance experience. This is a blended role to include the day to day operations of benefits administration company wide and managing the employee hiring process, basic employee relations and maintaining HR records for an assigned population in the western region.
This role requires a strong understanding of Benefits Administration, HR best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in employee benefits strategy, vendor management, leave administration, and compliance (including ACA, COBRA, and California-specific regulations such as CFRA, PDL, and SDI coordination).
This is a remote position with the flexibility to work in office as needed. Eligible candidates must reside in California in proximity to Rancho Cucamonga.
Benefits Administration
o Lead benefits administration including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness programs, and voluntary benefits
o Ensure compliance with federal and California state employment laws (CFRA, FMLA, PDL, COBRA, ACA, etc.)
o Manage leave of absence processes and coordinate with third-party administrators
o Partner with benefits brokers and vendors to evaluate plan performance and recommend enhancements
Generalist Administration
  • Onboarding:
    • Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for new employees.
    • Maintain and update employee records.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related issues, including policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and performance management.
    • Promote a positive employee relations environment through proactive communication and engagement initiatives.
  • HR Administration & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data. UKG Ready experience a plus.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO).
    • Process HR-related paperwork, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and promotions.

  • Other Duties:
    • Serve as a trusted HR advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, performance, and employee relations
    • Support employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives
    • Drive HR projects aligned with business goals
    • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2+ years in an HRBP or generalist role
  • Strong, hands-on experience in employee benefits administration and strategy
  • Working knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance requirements
  • Experience with leave management (FMLA, CFRA, disability, etc.)
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (UKG Ready is a plus)
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and consulting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience supporting multi-site or distributed workforces
  • Background working with benefits brokers and carriers
  • Experience in manufacturing, public safety, or field-based workforce environments
